Ikea::Piano::Candles::Etc...
Ok, ok I know it's been a whil, again, but nothing really has been going on. Well a couple of things. I will tell you about them, and then you will know. :) This weekend we borrowed a truck from one of the guys in Nate's football team, Tony, and made the 3 hour or so trek to Ikea in Frisco, which is right on top of Dallas. Our air mattress had formed yet another and more vicious right where Nathanael was sleeping. hehe! It was 3x the size of the last one too, so we decided that since we had some of our loan money in we would try buy a bed and a couple other much needed items. The Ikea we went to was only about a month old and apparently Texans have discovered its' magic and beauty because it was crazy busy. We got there at about 6pm and closed the store at 9pm and were waiting to pick up our bed after that. It was a long day to say the least but we did finally get a wonderful bed, and a couple bonus': we got it for $250, and it's a king! so Nathanael fits a lot better. It was worth the wait I'd say. It was kinda nostalgic deflating and folding up the air mattress, though. We also picked out a dark brown color bed frame. It's lower to the ground than most, and we really like it. Also picked up a new comforter and cover as well as our first set of new sheets to go on the loverly new bed. We got a couple side tables for the bedroom - they are round black iron with little holes in the top that form a star. Nathanael didn't really like those, but I really did and we couldn't find any that were cheaper or around the same price and as practical. We each got a desk, and as I was setting up mine the next day realized it was a very different color than the one I thought I had picked. :( It was supposed to be mahogany colored and I ended up with tan colored fake wood. It's definitely not half as nice and looks a lot cheaper than the other one, but I can live with it for a while. Why? you might ask. Well, because it is better than the tv table and floor my computer was on before lol! And it has wheels with locks which are handy for moving easily or not at all. We picked up a couple items for the kitchen, 12 - 14oz. glasses for $6, an amazing metal flipper coated in high density plastic to keep it from melting(I think these are going to make great Christmas gifts). I have wanted a reading and multipurpose light for the living room and we found a great one there so that thrills me! It has a dimmer and a separated reading light that adjusts. Man! I love Ikea. We did really good I think. Oh and then the next day Tony brought us a black futon that he wasn't using and trying to give away so we are going to have lots of furniture after this weekend when we go pick up the couchs we bought on E-Bay. I think the leather ones are going in the living room and the futon and crap loveseat are going in the office/fun room ;). The futon will be alright for people when they come visit *hint hint*. We need to go back to pick out a couple other things once we figure out how much money we have to spend on it, but for now we are pretty much set I think. Oh! We settled on a Corelle dishes set which I had found on E-Bay but then found cheaper at Walmart so I picked up one set. We just need to go back and grab another one. A couple other things we might want (cutlery that doesn't bend a new way every time we use it! lol!), but our needs are absolutely taken care of and that makes me giddy *does a giddy iddy iddy dance*! God is so good :) Anyway, enough about all the worldy things we now possess (oh we got some black tab-top curtains for the bedroom hoping it would keep the light out but they are not thick enough material, so any ideas on how to fix this would be awesome!!! no tin foil though, classy stuff.... seriously). I will try post some pics on my other site. Darryl taught Nate this game he found online that Nate in turn taught to me and now I am addicted. It is called Settlers of Cattan. I know there is a board game that a lot of people play out there. This is the same thing but on the computer, and you can play people on the internet or set up a game amongst friends on your computer. If you go to: http://www.s3dconnector.net/download.ph p you can download it. It's a small file and the game is free to play. If you download it let me know and we can play. It's super fun! I promise! Well, what else have I done. Hmmm.... Oh tonight Nathanael and I went to Kilgore, which is about 10mins away to attend a Piano Concert with Alessio Bax and Lucille Chung (who happens to be Canadian! yay!). It was amazing! It made me want to play the piano again, or wish I hadn't stopped or something. Dr. Watson told us about it in our class and we get 2 grades of 100% on our 2 lowest quiz grades if we hand in a 1 page summary of our experience but I think we would have gone either way. Came home after that and have been listening to some wonderful Diana Krall, ate some M&M's, went for a walk, and now I think I am going to go to bed. Maybe I will enjoy my new light and read a little of Treasure Island (which I borrowed from the library and have seen the movie but never read it). It's been a little hard to get into but soon the action should be starting so I am excited!! Wahoooooooooooooooo! I had to ask Julie to tape Gilmore Girls tonight so I am dying to know what happens. I think I'm going over there tomorrow to watch it! Yay! 'Nite :)
